This policy covers www.kartikbuddha.com and the personal applications described on it, including the ones listed under Projects. All of it is run by Kartik Buddha as a personal, non-commercial undertaking.
The short version
This site has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Nothing is collected from you when you read it, and nothing about you is sold or shared. The applications described here are used only by their own author, and each one touches only that author's own data.
This website
The site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, embeds no advertising or analytics scripts, and asks for no personal information. There is no contact form, mailing list or comment system.
The site is served by a hosting provider that, like every web host, records ordinary server request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. Those logs are handled by the hosting provider under its own terms and are not used here to build any profile of a visitor.
One area of the site, the family travel page, is password-protected for family use. It is excluded from search engines and is not part of the public site.
Pages may link to other sites — YouTube, GitHub, LinkedIn and similar. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not apply to them.
Applications that use Google and YouTube APIs
Some projects described on this site publish to YouTube through Google APIs. Those applications use YouTube API Services, and this section is their privacy disclosure.
In every case the only user is the owner of the channel itself. The application is a personal publishing tool, not a service offered to anyone else. It is not open to public sign-up, and no third party can authorise it.
- What is accessed. Only the authorising Google account's own YouTube channel: uploading videos, setting their titles, descriptions, thumbnails and playlists, and reading that channel's own performance statistics.
- What is stored. The OAuth refresh token issued by Google, held on the channel owner's own computer so the tool can run on a schedule without signing in again. It is not transmitted anywhere else. Alongside it the tool keeps its own production records — which words have been taught and which video IDs resulted — which contain no personal data.
- What is not accessed. No Gmail, Drive, Contacts or other Google data. No viewer identities, comments, subscriber lists or any personal data about the people who watch the videos.
- Who it is shared with. Nobody. Data obtained from Google APIs is not sold, transferred, or disclosed to any third party, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or to train any model.
- How long it is kept. The token is kept only while the tool is in use, and is destroyed when access is revoked or the tool is retired.
The exact scopes each application requests, and why, are listed on its own page: Easy Flash German.
These applications' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access granted to any of these applications can be withdrawn at any time from the third-party access page of the Google account that granted it. Revoking access immediately stops the application from publishing, and the stored token becomes useless.
Because the applications only ever act on their own author's account, there is no other person's data to request, correct or delete. Where the applications interact with YouTube, the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service also apply.
Children
Nothing here is directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from anyone, of any age.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the projects change. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
